2027 Returning Staff Application

We are excited that you are considering serving with M28 again in 2027! Returning to the M28 Staff means more than coming back for another summer… it means stepping into a greater level of leadership, responsibility, and accountability.

As returning staff, we want to see you continue growing in your relationship with Jesus and developing as a leader in His Kingdom. We are looking for students who are ready to take their faith, spiritual formation, and leadership to the next level and who understand that serving with M28 is a ministry commitment, not simply a summer job.

JOB DESCRIPTION

M28 is looking for college students who are actively seeking the Lord, pursuing a growing relationship with Jesus, and committed to practicing spiritual disciplines as they grow in their faith. Our Counselors are an essential part of the M28 experience and help create an environment where students can encounter Jesus, grow in their faith, and build meaningful relationships.

Throughout the summer, Counselors may serve in a variety of ways, including:

• Leading D-Groups (Discipleship Groups)

• Helping set the tone for worship as students enter the building

• Assisting with and leading workshops

• Building meaningful relationships with students and adult leaders

• Helping set up and prepare for worship sessions

• Participating in games, recreation, and other camp activities

• Serving wherever needed to help create an excellent camp experience

• Leading and serving as spiritual leaders for younger students

D-Groups are one of the most important responsibilities of an M28 Counselor. Counselors lead a D-Group of approximately 12–14 students following evening worship sessions. These groups provide students with an opportunity to process what they have heard, study God's Word, ask honest questions, grow in discipleship, and learn to listen for the voice of the Holy Spirit. Counselors will receive curriculum that corresponds with the evening worship sessions and will be equipped to lead meaningful conversations and help students take the next step in their faith.

HOUSING & MEALS

In addition to compensation, housing and meals will be provided during M28 events. Male and female staff will have separate housing provided on the grounds or near where events are held.

Staff are responsible for transportation to and from each event. M28 will provide opportunities for staff to carpool when possible.

PROGRAM DATES & OPPORTUNITIES TO SERVE

WINTER RETREAT 2027
February 12–15, 2027
Hargis Christian Camp — Chelsea, AL

Winter Retreat provides youth groups with an opportunity to step away from the normal routine, worship together, and grow deeper in their faith. Returning staff may serve in a variety of leadership and ministry roles throughout the weekend.

This position requires a full retreat weekend commitment from February 12 at 4:00p to February 15 at Noon. There will be online training and curriculum study for the weekend on the following Monday nights at 7:30p (January 25, February 1, 8). Your presence on these zoom call are vital. Please be sure to add these to your calendar! If you are unable to attend, a recording will be made available and a make up zoom call can be arranged!

BASICS OF FAITH 2027
April 9–11, 2027
Lake Forest Ranch — Macon, MS

Basics of Faith is a weekend retreat designed specifically for 4th–6th grade students. The weekend focuses on helping students understand and grow in the foundational truths of the Christian faith.

This position requires a full retreat weekend commitment from April 9 at 4:00p to April 11 at Noon. There will be online training and curriculum study for the weekend on the following Monday nights at 7:30p (March 15, 22, 29, and April 5). Your presence on these zoom call are vital. Please be sure to add these to your calendar! If you are unable to attend, a recording will be made available and a make up zoom call can be arranged!

SUMMER 2027
June 21–July 14, 2027
Lake Junaluska — North Carolina
Counselors will arrive at Lake Junaluska on June 21, 2027, at 4:00 PM to begin Staff Training and preparation for the summer.
Summer Compensation: $550 total, plus housing, meals, and staff excursions.

This position requires a full five summer session commitment from June 21 at 4:00pm EST –July 14, 2027 at 10:00am EST, including Staff Training Every Monday in May-June at 7:30p, Awakening Project on May 17-21, 2027, and all five M28 Summer Camp sessions. Staff Training and Strengthening will prepare our team spiritually, relationally, and practically for the weeks ahead. Come ready to serve, grow, lead, and give your summer to Jesus.
